Privacy policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
Draft for review. This page has been rewritten for the new website and has not been signed off yet.
This policy explains what information AdEvolver Ltd ("AdEvolver", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It covers our website at adevolver.com (the "Site") and our web application at app.adevolver.com (the "App"), including the Google Ads data you choose to connect.
If anything is unclear, email privacy@adevolver.com.
The short version
- We use your Google Ads data only to provide AdEvolver's features to you.
- We never sell your data, and never use your Google Ads data for advertising.
- AdEvolver only changes your Google Ads account when you ask it to, or when you switch on an automation such as the Budget Commander Defender.
- We never see your Google password or your full card number.
- You can disconnect Google Ads, cancel or ask us to delete your data at any time.
Who we are
AdEvolver is operated by AdEvolver Ltd, Kemp House, 160 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy at privacy@adevolver.com.
Information we collect
When you visit the Site
Our web servers record standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested, to keep the Site running and secure. The Site does not use analytics or advertising cookies.
When you contact us
If you email us or use the support form in the App, we receive your message, your name and email address, and anything else you choose to send. We use it to reply and help you.
When you create an account
- Account details: your name, email address, a securely hashed password and your time zone.
- Activity details: when you last signed in and were last active, so we can support you and keep the App secure.
- Billing details: your plan and payment history. Payments are handled by Stripe. We keep only your card brand and the last four digits of the card; we never see or store the full card number.
- Team details: the names and email addresses of people you invite to your team.
- Content you add: notes, alert and tracker rules, budgets and other settings you save in the App.
- Feedback: messages, feature requests and votes you send through the App or our feedback board.
When you connect Google Ads
You connect Google Ads through Google's own sign-in and permission screen, where you choose the Google account to connect. AdEvolver asks Google for permission to manage your Google Ads accounts (the Google Ads API scope), plus your basic profile. When you connect, we receive and store:
- Tokens from Google that let the App call the Google Ads API on your behalf. We store these encrypted. We never see your Google password.
- Basic profile information from the connected Google account: email address, name, profile picture and language, so you can see which account is connected.
- The list of Google Ads accounts you can access, and which of them you choose to sync.
- Google Ads data for the accounts you sync, such as campaign, ad group, keyword, search term, budget and performance data (impressions, clicks, cost, conversions and similar).
How we use Google Ads data
- To provide the features you use: to show your dashboard, check accounts for alerts and opportunities, track KPIs and budgets, analyse search terms and n-grams, send you the alerts and reports you set up, and make the changes you ask for.
- Changes to your account: some features can change your Google Ads account, for example adding negative keywords from N-Grams, or pausing and re-enabling campaigns. AdEvolver only does this when you ask it to, or when you have switched on an automation that does it for you (such as the Budget Commander Defender, which pauses campaigns to stop overspend). Every change is listed on the Changes page in the App.
- What we never do: we never sell Google Ads data, use it for advertising (including retargeting or personalised ads), share it with data brokers or advertising platforms, or use it to decide creditworthiness or for lending.
- Who looks at it: people at AdEvolver do not read your Google Ads data unless you ask us to (for example, to help with a support request), it is needed for security or to fix a problem, it is required by law, or it has been aggregated and anonymised for running the service.
Google API Services User Data Policy
AdEvolver's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to theGoogle API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Artificial intelligence (AI) features
Some optional features use AI. When you use one, the question you ask and a summary of the relevant account data are sent to OpenAI to produce the answer. Only the data the feature needs is sent, and never your password, payment details or Google tokens. We do not use your data to train AI models, and OpenAI's API terms do not allow it to use this data to train its models. Features that do not use AI send nothing to an AI provider.
How we use your other information
- To create and run your account and sign you in;
- To take payments and send receipts and invoices;
- To send the alerts, tracker reports and budget notifications you set up, by email or Slack;
- To send service messages, such as trial and billing notices, security notices and changes to these policies;
- To respond to support requests and feedback;
- To keep the Site and App secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems;
- To understand how the App is used so we can improve it.
Legal bases (UK and EEA users)
We process your information to perform our contract with you (running your account and the features you use), for our legitimate interests (keeping the service secure, preventing fraud, and understanding and improving the service, balanced against your rights), to comply with legal obligations (such as tax records), and with your consent where we ask for it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run AdEvolver, under contracts that limit them to using it for that purpose:
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| The Google Ads API, which is how AdEvolver reads and, when you ask, changes your Google Ads data. | |
| Hetzner | Hosting the App and its databases. |
| Amazon Web Services (AWS) | Data processing, storage and email sending (Amazon SES). |
| Stripe | Payments, billing and invoices. |
| Email delivery providers (Twilio SendGrid, Amazon SES) | Sending account emails, alerts and reports. |
| Slack | Delivering alerts and reports to the Slack workspace you connect, if you choose to. |
| Sentry | Error monitoring, so we can find and fix problems. |
| Canny | Our feedback and feature request board. |
| Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity | Understanding how the App is used, so we can improve it. |
| OpenAI | Optional AI features (see above). |
We may also share information to comply with the law or a lawful request, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. In a sale, Google user data would only be transferred with your explicit consent.
International transfers
Some of our providers are based in, or process data in, the United States and other countries outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Cookies
The Site does not set analytics or advertising cookies. The App uses cookies that are needed to sign you in and keep your session secure (a session cookie, a security token that protects forms and, if you choose, a "remember me" cookie). The App also uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how it is used. You can opt out of Google Analytics with theGoogle Analytics opt-out add-on.
How long we keep information
- Google tokens and connected profile: until you disconnect the Google account, or your subscription ends and your data is removed.
- Google Ads data: while you have an active account and keep the Google Ads account synced. When your subscription ends, or you stop syncing an account, we delete its Google Ads data. Temporary cached copies expire within 30 days.
- Alert and tracker history: 90 days.
- Deleted notes: kept in the bin for 30 days, then deleted.
- Account, team and support records: while your account is open.
- Billing and tax records: as long as tax law requires (usually six years).
- Backups: database backups are kept for 7 days, so deleted data leaves them within 7 days.
Disconnecting and deleting your data
- Disconnect Google Ads at any time from Settings, Integrations in the App. You can also remove AdEvolver's access from your Google account atmyaccount.google.com/permissions. Either way, AdEvolver can no longer read or change your Google Ads data.
- Cancel your plan at any time from the billing page in the App.
- Delete your account by emailing privacy@adevolver.com from the email address on your account. We will delete your account and its data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.
- Stop alert emails by changing your alert settings in the App.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to access your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy of it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, emailprivacy@adevolver.com. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), by storing Google tokens encrypted, by hashing passwords, by limiting staff access to what is needed, and by using reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep your information safe and will tell you promptly if a breach affects you.
Children
AdEvolver is a business service and is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the App before they take effect.
